AASRT TIMES

next meeting – April 17 at the TNI - SPECIAL START TIME – 2.5 CE (PLEASE RSVP NOW!). We’ll be meeting on Thursday evening (April 17) [YES, we DO have the room this month!] in the first floor conference room of the TNI Building, 4410 Medical Drive. Park in the garage or ground-level parking lot. Attendants are gone by the time we conclude, so the parking is free. Joanne Horgan starts us off at 5:32 pm with a 1.0 CE class on Breast Cancer, Detection and Treatment. At 6:32 pm, Dr. Stephanie Kelley, M.D. will be our second speaker; topic - Radiofrequency Ablation of Hepatic Tumors (1.5 CE). Refreshments and sign-in for the first class will be available at 5:15 pm in the TNI Conference Room. Business meeting will include nominations for 2008/09. New members are always welcome. March 20 – Grrh! As I informed people in our email group, the fault was totally mine (John Mayes). When I reserved the room for all of our dates by email back in 2007, I was informed that there was a conflict on one of the dates. Somehow, I got it locked into my brain as I filled out my calendar that the conflict was April, but it actually turned out to be March 20 (as the email clearly stated [I still had it!]. What this gaff clearly pointed out (and I DO hope not to ever make a similar mistake again) is that we need quick contact numbers for everyone. If we had cell phone numbers in our database, we could have quickly called everyone on the RSVP list and saved folks a wasted trip that night. If you RSVP for the April meeting, or at your next renewal, we will be adding that number to our confidential database info.

AASRT 5 CE Seminar at St. Philip’s College – May 3 This 5 CE Seminar is free to current members, or those who join prior to April 31. If you are mailing dues, postmark must be by April 31. At the door for NON-MEMBERS, the cost will be $35. At St. Philip’s College on Saturday, May 3, place will be the Heritage Room. Doors will be open at 6:15; first class starts promptly at 7 AM. You MUST be present at 7 AM to receive credit for this first class. Please pre-register by sending your name (the way you want it on the certificate), with your AASRT number and expiration date by email to johnbmayes@yahoo.com. If you are not a member yet, but want to attend the Seminar, fill out the slip below, and MAIL IT NOW or bring it to the April 17 meeting.

CHECK YOUR MAILING LABEL or Membership Card: If your membership expiration is noted as 03/31/08, this will be your last newsletter unless you renew. Applicants may renew (or join) at any time. Annual dues are $25 per year and you’re getting lots of ‘bang to the buck’ with CE and meals with a newsletter in any month there is a meeting, and the website that is available to all technologists with computer access. For anyone whose membership is current, renewing simply adds 12 months to that renewal date.
