(Alamo Area Society of Radiologic Technologists) March 2009

Next meeting is March 19. We will be meeting at the John E. Hornbeak building on the 2nd floor, in the Aransas and Brazos rooms. (Use the same parking lot as the TNI building.)

(IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND, PLEASE RSVP NOW!). We’ll be meeting on Thursday evening (March 19) in the second floor Aransas and Brazos conference rooms of the John E. Hornbeak Building, 4450 Medical Drive. Park in the garage or ground-level parking lot. Attendants are gone by the time we conclude, so the parking is free. Teresa Kautz will be speaking on Imaging Patients with Testicular Cancer. This meeting will be 1.5 CE credits with the speaker starting at 6:15 pm. Refreshments and sign-in will be available at 5:45 pm in the Aransas and Brazos Conference Rooms. New members are always welcome. For food planning purposes, RSVP not later than Tuesday noon (03/17/09) to Angie Rabb by phone at (210) 232-8285 or email: arabb@mail.accd.edu. (If you RSVP, we expect you to attend!) In January we had 49 members attend the meeting. Deborah Southwell gave an informative presentation on, Diagnosing Wrist Fractures Using Ionizing Radiation. We would also like to thank Paula Peters and Beth Farwell for providing the refreshments!

Increase in annual dues

The annual dues have been increased to $35 per year, effective July 21, 2008. You will still be able to get 12 CE’s for the low cost of $35 by attending all meetings.

Students welcome to join!

Radiography students will be given a discounted rate of $10 per year. Students must bring a letter from their program director with expected graduation date. This does not apply to students who are already registered in a primary modality.

Seminars

SPC Diagnostic Imaging Club is hosting a seminar Saturday, March 28. For more information contact Angie Rabb at 486-2455 or arabb@mail.accd.edu.

Reservations will be accepted at the March meeting for the Annual Ft. Sam Seminar to be held in May.

If you have forgotten when your membership expires, check the site. If your name is NOT listed, you are no longer current. Dates should match what is on your membership card. Please call or email Angie Rabb if you think you’ve found an error.

If your membership expiration is noted as 03/31/09, this will be your last newsletter unless you renew. Applicants may renew (or join) at any time. Annual dues are $35 per year and you’re getting lots of bang to the buck with CE and meals with a newsletter in any month there is a meeting, and the website that is

available to all technologists with computer access. For anyone whose membership is current, renewing simply adds 12 months to that renewal date. Anyone can join (or re-join/renew) at any time using the renewal form below (or equivalent):
